1st Bubble Skirt

I was not as productive today as I had hoped to be. I’m so bummed. My friend Rhonda’s daughter came over to baby-sit so I could get some mad sewing done (and she was going to be here for 5, yes FIVE hours). But of course right after she got here I got an awful headache and had to got to bed for a while. I had so many things planed to sew today. Oh well, it will be there tomorrow!

But I did get something accomplished. The Bubble Skirt! I think it turned out really cute but I am going to tweak a few things when I make another. For one thing, I don’t like how thick the waist band is. Just hanging on the hanger it looks cute but once you put it on the kiddos it bunches and looks weird. But all in all, it’s great! What do you think?

2nd Reversible Dress

And here is the 2nd one...I have to say I am in LOVE with these dresses! They are so girly and sweet! As soon as I get up my nerve to use my embroidery machine I'm going to do some monogramming and appliques. So...2 dresses in one day is not bad! Tell me what you think....I really like this fabric. It's by Michael Miller and it just looks so retro.

1st Reversible Dress

I finished the 1st of the reversible dresses I’ve set out to do. I LOVE this pattern! SOOOO cute! It’s the Lucy by “The Children’s Corner” #241. Here is my the fabric I used and my little one modeling one side of the 2 sided dress….
Now...Off to sew some more!!!

Stitcher's Playhouse

I found the GREATEST little fabric store today. The ladies who own it are SO incredibly nice and helpful! Huge shout out to Stitcher's Playhouse! I was the only customer for an hour and they helped me nonstop. It is evident that they are NOT short on business but that does not stop them from making you feel like you are the only one that matters. These women KNOW sewing! They offer classes and I am signing up for the next one! Check out what I got today!
Fabric By Michael Miller. This is going to be soooo cute!
Fabric by Moda. Cute Little Bubble Skirt!
And these are the "Lucy" Fabric also by Michael Miller. These dresses are reversable and are going to be TO DIE FOR!

I'm going to be working on these this weekend and I'll post pics as I complete them!

I got a NEW TOY! Singer Futura...you are MINE!

Ok, I am so excited about my new toy! I have only been sewing for less than a year. When I started I didn't want to dump a ton of money into a sewing machine just to find out that I didn't like it or (worse yet) couldn't sew. So I bought a Singer Simple from Walmart for 100 bucks. Well, now I'm completely obsessed....to say the least....so my wonderful husband gave me the green light for getting a step up (or 12). I just got the Singer Futura in the mail last night and it's AMAZING! I just love it! I am going to be able to do so much with this machine that I can't wrap my head around it! I don't know everything there is to know about sewing, I have SO much more to learn and I am loving the process.
